Loch, canal, castle & pub
Apr. 11th, 2013 07:29 am Yesterday I was on a tour around and on the Loch Ness.
I didn't imagine that I would be talking with the tour guide (a really nice woman) and two girls from Singapore about how steamy Diana Gabaldon's Outlander was. \o/
Lovely day. A bit cold - yes, snowflakes again but not for long and that was while we were at Corrimony Cairns. Castle Urquhart was amazing (and my purple bag died there - that waste of money) but the Loch Ness Monster exhibition was awful. It was dated and sad and really a waste of time. The tour on the Loch and the Caledonian Canal was very nice. And very cold.
My day ended at Hootananny which is the pub everybody recommends in Inverness and they even had entertainment (usually it's live music) in the form of a drunken ass who was escorted at the door by one of the barmen (classy, he even shook his hand) and then the ass came back to punch a hole in the wall. Two constables (and both so young and pretty they could have been in a TV show, a woman and a man, both blond). That made me forget the beer. I really don't like beer but they made an awesome haggis pie... I'll probably go there again.
