Live from Scotland
Apr. 10th, 2013 06:58 amI'm in Inverness, Scotland, since Monday.
Amazing landscapes all around. I thought the train ride would kill me from boredom (3 hours and a half - and the train was slower than a RER) but the scenery outside the window were just beautiful so not bored at all.
Yesterday, I went to Culloden Battlefield. It was really moving thinking of all the people that died there in the middle of nowhere (well, almost nowhere). And the visitor center and its exposition were really well done. I took a ton of pictures and then my batteries died. I was scared for a minute but if my bag is a mess it's also well-stocked so...
Then I went to Clava Cairns which was cool but done fast.
On the morning I had done a bit of shopping for walking shoes (10 inch heels boots... not a good idea and ballerinas aren't better) and I had to stop to the local comics shop were I had to buy the comic version of Outlander... Fangirl forever etc. etc. And I'm in Scotland because of Gabaldon... I would have choose the Lake District or Wales otherwise.
Today it's a tour around and on the Loch Ness. It's the only group tour I booked but I think it would be worth it. We'll see.
